Hey There Adventure Runners,
Happy 2018! We've already knocked off our first race of the year. If you missed the Snowshoe Raid this year, check out the amazing photos on our Facebook page.
RAID THE RIB ADVENTURE RUN
The big news for this newsletter is that registration is now open for this years running of the Raid the Rib Adventure Run. This years race returns to the Niagara region on April 29.
The real news is that we have listened to your requests and are adding a number of classes and categories to the Half Raid. For this years Half Raid:
We will be watching registrations for this race. If we see the need for even more additional categories (Coed, Supermasters etc) we will add them. We don't want to end up with an 'everyone's a winner' situation, so will be watching closely!
Follow the link above to sign up.
ELIMINATOR ADVENTURE RUN
Quick reminder for this race on March 4. Registration is open and regular fees are in effect until Feb 15. Explore some of the areas covered at the end of the 2016 edition of Raid the Hammer and some new, never used before areas!
Choose from either the usual 2 hour Adventure Run format or the O-Cup format. Both will feature a 'Knock-Out' style format in some way - stay tuned for more details on the Facebook event page.
HAMILTON ADVENTURE RUNNING SCHOOLS CHALLENGE
The 43rd running of the Schools Challege is being held this year on April 25 at Christie Lake. This is actually the largest race in the Dontgetlost calendar with around 1500 kids taking part!
That many kids means LOTS of volunteers are needed. If your schedule has a free spot on a Wednesday morning/early afternoon and you'd like to witness an event of this magnitude and helping out - we'd love to hear from you. Shoot race director Ray Kitowski an email and he can provide further information.
Finally, if you've been getting some Nav withdrawal, don't forget about our Winter X-League. Join us every other Thursday for a quick 30-40 min nav practice. The next session is tomorrow night at Westmount Secondary in Hamilton.
Too chilly for running, but still want to work on the rough edges of your Nav? Every other Thursday, Nav Guru Meghan is hosting an informal lecture in Hamilton on various techniques you can implement while racing (and a workout before hand if you're super keen!). Check out the link above for further details.
