PEAK-2-PEAK ADVENTURE RUN
SUNDAY OCTOBER 23, 2016 (HAMILTON, ON)
Time to find the mountain high enough! The Peak-2-Peak Adventure is a run through challenging terrain with lots of climb with most checkpoints are on the top of peaks (hills, knolls, the odd mountain perhaps). This race has become the must-do event to prepare your team for the Raid the Hammer Adventure Run. The Peak-2-Peak Adventure Run is an excellent opportunity to work on your nav and get the adventure running juices flowing! Run the Peak-2-Peak on your own or as a team, a group or family.
LOCATION AND DIRECTIONS
TBD (announcement made in summer, 2016)
MAP & TERRAIN
MAP: TBD (Scale 1:10,000; Contour Interval 5m).
TERRAIN: Ridge and Valley. Steep hills, open woods with some trail running.
COURSES & CATEGORIES
This course is a 'Choose Your Adventure Run' format where participants have up to two hours to get as many of the 20 checkpoints that are scattered throughout the terrain. Each checkpoint will be rated as green, blue, black diamond and double black diamond difficulty depending on the running and navigation challenges and skills needed to find the checkpoint. So just like a day at the ski hill or mountain biking park you can start with some green checkpoints, maybe shred some blues and then perhaps try a black diamond checkpoint. Because you 'Choose your adventure run', the order and difficulty of the checkpoints you visit is completely up to you.
