The Hamilton (aka the Hammer) region has a rich long distance running history as the home of North America's oldest road running race and the hometown of many past winners of the Boston marathon and Canadian Olympian runners. The Raid the Hammer Adventure Run builds on this running history by combining road running, trail running, navigation, and trekking together into Ontario's gnarliest running race. Teams of three can expect lots of mud, rock and calf killing climbs as they Raid the Hammer.

The Raid the Hammerfollows our classic point-to-point adventure format. Teams can choose between or Raid or Half-Raid point-to-point race course options.
RAID: This course is a 24-28 km* course that involves intermediate trail running, trekking skills and endurance, and intermediate to advanced navigation skills. Teams of 3 can expect to take 3-6 hours to complete the course with most teams finishing in 5 hours. Teams are required to carry personal and team gear, and there are normally several food and aid stations on the course. Choose among the following RAID categories: Coed, Male, Female, Masters (average teammate age 45 or more).
FULL RAID IS FOR TEAMS OF 3 ONLY
HALF-RAID: This course is approximately half the distance of the full Raid, a 10-14 km* course that includes many of the same elements. Intermediate trail running, trekking skills and endurance and beginner to intermediate navigation skills are recommended. Teams of TWO OR THREE can expect to take 2-4 hours to complete the course with most teams finishing in 3 hours. Teams are required to carry personal and team gear, and there are normally several food and aid stations on the course. This is a great course for juniors, teams that are new to the sport and experienced racers looking for a shorter distance than the full Raid. Choose between the following HALF-RAID categories: Open, Female, Masters, Junior (ages 13-18).
*Course distance is for teams who choose efficient routes and don't get excessively off course. Full Raid teams can clock in over 30km due to inefficient navigation choices and poor execution.
