KNOCKOUT ADVENTURE RUN

O-Cup Knockout 2018 Splits (Please disregard placings and points in this file. It was just the most convenient report for showing the o-cup splits. 73 shows up as 90. 41 and 42 are the stage finishes)
Choose from one of two race formats:
Knockout Adventure Run: A 2-hour choose-your-adventure run format. Visit as many checkpoints in two hours. Checkpoints are scored based on difficulty: Green (easy), blue (intermediate), black diamond (difficult) and double black diamond (expert).
Knockout O-Cup: A three-stage "knock-out" adventure run format. Each stage has 10-12 checkpoints including a section of 7 checkpoints ('the box') which participants may visit in any order.
Participants have the option to skip checkpoints in the box equal to their handicap points (see below for details). The top 20 finishers after stage #1 continue on to stage #2 and the top 10 finishers of stage #2 continue on to stage #3.
If the top 20 (or 10 for stage 2) participants haven't finished the Stage before 10 minutes after the first participant finishes, the next Stage will begin for however many have finished at that point.
If you are "knocked out" from the race in either of the first or second stages you can still complete in the remaining stages but you will not be ranked in the top 20/10 (depending when you were eliminated). The Knockout O-Cup is the final race in the 2017-2018 Orienteering Ontario O-Cup Series.

9:00-10:00: Race-kit pick-up and registration

ENTRY FEES & REGISTRATION
We offer early-bird, regular and late online registration fees (midnight on the dates listed). We also offer limited race day registration but please arrive early, as there will only be 20 extra maps available on a first-come, first-served basis.

* Sport Ident timing cards are required for this race. The rental rate is free for for ARK participants and coaches signed up for our spring 2018 season.
Entry fees include 13% HST and a 2018 membership in DontGetLost Adventure Running to cover race insurance. Price does not include parking (please car pool). Refund policy.

KNOCKOUT O-CUP HANDICAP POINTS SYSTEM
Knockout AR uses The Handicap Orienteering And Scoring System (THOMASS). The race course will feature a box of at least 7 checkpoints which participants may visit in any order. Participants have the option to skip checkpoints in the box equal to their handicap point total. Handicap points are awarded as follows (ages as of December 31, 2018):
- 6 - Women 12 or younger, Men 12 or younger, Women 65 or older
- 5 - Women 14 or younger, Men 14 or younger, Women 55 or older, Men 75 or older
- 4 - Women 16 or younger, Men 16 or younger, Women 45 or older, Men 65 or older
- 3 - Women 19 or younger, Women 35 or older, Men 55 or older
- 2 - Women 20 to 34, Women ranked in the top 10 in Canada, Men 45 or older
- 1 - Men 19 or younger, Men 35 or older
- 0 - Men 20 to 34, Men ranked in the top 10 in Canada
Required gear includes a whistle, compass, Sport Ident timing card (available for rent).
