GOLDEN LEAF ORIENTEERING FEST (GLOF) OCTOBER 12-13, 2013 HAMILTON, ONTARIO GLOF UPDATES November 14, 2011: 100 weeks to GLOF 2013! We have officially embargoed a large section of the Dundas Valley Conservation Area that will be used for the sprint, middle and long races. We have also embargoed back-up reserve sprint areas of Bayfront Park and McMaster University. Check in our maps and terrain section for more details.
January 27, 2011: Golden Horseshoe Orienteering will host the 2013 Canadian Orienteering Championships in Hamilton, Ontario as part of the 2013 Golden Leaf Orienteering Fest (GLOF). This will mark the 5th time that GHO has hosted the Canadian Championships and the 2nd time the Canadian Orienteering Championships will have taken place in City of Hamilton (1975). Previous Canadian Orienteering Championships were hosted in 1975 (Hamilton), 1978 (Milton), 1983 (Barrie), and 1994 (Barrie). GHO has also hosted the 1986, 1994 and 2006 North American Champs as well as the 1986 Canadian World Cup race. *** For environmental reasons there will be a strict limit of 300 participants per race. The entry limit of 300 will be made on a first come, first serve basis. Registration opens on May 1, 2013.***
