Ted de St. Croix Top Athlete Award Golden Horseshoe Orienteering formed in 2000 from the merger of the Hamilton King's Foresters (HKF) and Niagara (NIA) Orienteering Clubs. In 2000, GHO created two awards to recognize athletic achievement and volunteer service within the club. The Ted de St. Croix Top Athlete Award and the Keith French Memorial HKF Service Award. The Ted de St. Croix Top Athlete Award is awarded annually to the club member that has the 'top' orienteering results during that calender year. The award consists of a club membership for the following orienteering season. Ted de St. Croix was a member of the Niagara Orienteering Club and won many Canadian and North American Orienteering Champs while living in Niagara. Ted placed 10th at the 1985 World Orienteering Championships - the best ever by a North American man. Ted now lives in Vancouver and is the Canadian National Team Coach. 2000 - Mike Waddington 2001 - Pippa McNeil 2002 - Hans Fransson 2003 - Pam James 2004 - Pam James 2005 - Mike Waddington 2006 - Patrick Goeres 2007 - Elena Logvina 2008 - Serghei Logvin |
